In-depth of field with my Fuji X-E1 and 35mm f/1.4

Every now and again I find I have a need to shoot shallow, it has to be my favourite past time, I find it is very easy to make the ordinary look extraordinary. The X-E1 and the glorious Fujinon 35mm f/1.4 lens makes it even easier. My battered fender copy electric guitar fell fowl of my boredom this evening.

It’s not that I get bored easily but I never seem to sit of and evening wondering why I have not shot a frame today and then not shoot a frame
So I will dig out my X-E1 with the 35mm and pick an object and shoot it in depth, all at shallow apertures. f/1.4-f/2.8. Playing with the depth of field, best results will be with natural too. Evening light is always the best. Here are a few more to give you the idea of the boring becoming beautiful.

  1. You naughty tease! You know how desperate I am for this lens! These photos are simply gorgeous! Can I ask have you used the Duplex filter on these, that you wrote about recently?

    1. Hi Adrain, Sorry mate but its such a good lens and body package I can’t stop myself. Just go and buy it 🙂 it will be welded to your body for months. Yes sir. Well spotted I have used the Duplex filter on theses shots just to make that extra dreamy bokeh. Best regards Simon.
